Invalid Username/Password

"Either your login was denied or you are not permitted to open any databases."

If you are seeing this message, the username and password that you entered into elligence does not appear to be valid. There are a few possible reasons why this could be:

  1. You have misspelled the username or password.
  2. Your password was changed, and you did not know it.
  3. Your account does not have access to any databases, and so you are not being allowed to log in.
  4. Your user account record was corrupted somehow. (This is a very remote possibility, usually resulting from a server crash or someone directly manipulating the data in the database.)

Try again

Just to make sure that you haven't misspelled your username or password, try to log in again. This time, make certain that you are correctly entering the username and the password.

Reset Password

In order to proceed, you'll need to find an administrative user who can access the Admin > Security Manager menu.

Have them do this:

  1. Go to Admin > Security Manager.
  2. Click the Open button, and pull up your user account.
  3. Set the password to 1234, or some other very simple password. (They will have to enter the new password twice.)
  4. Click Save.

Make a note of your new username and password, and try to log in again.

If you can log in with this new username and password, it is very important that you now go to Utility > Change Password and select a new password.
If you do not, then your account will be left with a simple password, and your elligence database may be open to attack!
